The position


What your job will look like:

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
  • Process accounts receivable
  • Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage
  • Assist with state tax filing
  • Oversee sales tax nexus
  • Close the books on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Process semi-monthly payroll using Paychex
  • Assist the Controller with the operations and ad-hoc projects
  • Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements

All you need is:

  • At least two years of experience as a bookkeeper.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Data entry knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Associates degree - an advantage
  • Knowledge of Netsuite or other applications
  • Familiar with Paychex or other payroll processing software
  • Ability to function well under pressure and with heavy workload (short timetable)
  • Well-organized with ability to prioritize
  • Good people skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Operate from New York office with hybrid model
