About us:
Mobileye is a global leader in Physical AI, developing computer vision, software, and hardware to power autonomous driving solutions and humanoid robots. Our mission is to bring autonomy into the real world by building intelligent technologies that are designed to expand accessibility and enhance everyday life, from advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving to robotics and humanoids.
Built on decades of automotive innovation and industrial-scale AI expertise, Mobileye technologies power more than 230 million vehicles worldwide. With teams around the world, we continue to innovate at the forefront of autonomous systems, advancing the next generation of Physical AI for the real world.
About the team:
Who you are:
- Creative industrial designer with a passion for consumer humanoid robotics, home aesthetics, warm human-robot interaction, and harmonious living-space integration.
- Bridge-builder who balances visual elegance, thermal airflow, structural motion envelopes, and mass-production DFM constraints.
- Hands-on designer who bridges rapid concept sketching, Class-A CAD surfacing, photorealistic visualization, and production-ready design handoffs.
- A strong collaborator across mechanical structures, thermal engineering, brand marketing, and tooling suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Own the industrial design language, overall proportions, outer shell styling, and home-friendly visual identity of the consumer humanoid robot platform.
- Generate concept sketches, photorealistic renderings, and Class-A 3D surface models expressing a warm, approachable, elegant, and home-integrated identity.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and thermal engineers to integrate shell covers, ventilation paths, sensor windows, and dynamic joint clearance envelopes without compromising joint mobility or home aesthetics.
- Design human-robot interaction features including status LED light guides, touch points, visual display enclosures, and emergency stop button integration.
- Work directly with tooling vendors and composite manufacturers to preserve design intent through plastic injection molding, thermoforming, and die casting processes.
- Conduct ergonomic and safety evaluations to eliminate pinch points, sharp edges, and inconvenient service maintenance access zones.
- Create design assets for charging docks, transport cases, branded accessories, and public demonstration platforms.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design.
- 7+ years of industrial design experience in complex hardware products, consumer electronics, home robotics, or automotive interior design.
- Outstanding portfolio showcasing concept generation, Class-A CAD surfacing skills, and photorealistic renderings tailored for consumer hardware.
- Proficiency in 3D surfacing tools (Rhino, Alias, SolidWorks, or Creo) and rendering engines (KeyShot, Blender, or V-Ray).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including plastic injection molding, sheet metal forming, vacuum casting, and composite layups.
- Deep knowledge of engineering plastics, surface coatings, anti-scratch finishes, and mass-production DFM/DFA constraints.
- Exceptional aesthetic sensibility paired with practical mechanical integration spatial awareness.
Advantages:
- Direct experience designing humanoid robots, quadruped robots, service robots, or automotive exterior styling.
- Hands-on experience managing CMF sample sign-offs and mold texture approvals with manufacturing suppliers.
- Experience with integrated lighting design, light guides, or visual status displays for hardware products.
- Comfortable communicating technical topics in English with international teams.
- Experience with Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) specification, sample sign-offs, and factory approvals for consumer hardware.
