Our EyeC LiDAR department develops next-generation high-performance long-range LiDAR systems for autonomously driving vehicles. The project involves cutting-edge electro-optic modules for FMCW LIDAR, HW, VLSI, mechanics, SW FW, and Algorithms.
We are looking for a talented student with some background in the fields of Image and/or Signal Processing.

What will your job look like?

  • Create and implement new or use existing traditional and Signal processing algorithms, to solve applied problems in various domains that use FMCW LiDAR components.
  • Develop ASIC (HW) based algorithms for sampling, pre-processing, and processing of multi-channel RF signals for LIDAR applications, as well as range and velocity estimators and image processing of the 4D (range/directions/velocity) representation of the LiDAR output.
  • Deliver fixed point ASIC algo specifications to VLSI team, and DSP algo specifications to SW team. Develop comprehensive E2 simulation infrastructure for verification of algorithm pipes at the system level, and release algorithms to ASIC VLSI design and to FW and SW
  • Analyze field recorded data and confirm system performance through emulations. Work closely with the physics team to develop novel concepts for algorithm developments.

All you need is:

  • Student towards BSc or MSc in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • MSc - advantage
  • Good understanding of multidisciplinary system modules - optics, mechanics, algorithms, and of the system-level application.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work in a fast-paced work environment while supporting field tests and other team tasks.
  • Background in image analysis/imaging sensors development – advantage
  • Background in Signal processing/communication– advantage
  • Experience with Radar / LiDAR systems – advantage
  • Programming experience with Matlab, Python, Git – advantage
  • At least 1.5 years remaining to degree completion
